SUNFLOWER HEX: #ffb511
Riso is known for their vibrant plant-based inks. Currently we have Black, Fluorescent Pink, Aqua, and Sunflower, but we’re always wanting to add in more! Let us know your suggestions if you have them.
Risograph printing is basically screen printing within a copy machine. It prints one layer of color at a time, but when printed over top of each other, the inks blend together to form your beautiful art. If you are concerned with absolute perfect precision registration or Pantone matching a very specific color, then Riso printing is not for you, and that’s ok! If you are interested in discovery, whimsy, and wonderful surprises, then you’ve come to the right place. Riso has its quirks like smudging, uneven coverage, misregistration, and tire marks, but there is beauty in the imperfection!
In our shop, we have a SF5450 Digital Duplicator. The largest paper size it can run is 11x17” and the print area is 1/2” within that dimension. The paper type it can handle is 12-lb bond to 116-lb index (46 gsm to 210 gsm) absorbent and uncoated. We keep a variety of papers in stock, but you are welcome to bring in your own paper within those parameters. If you want to be hands on with your prints, you can contact us to schedule studio time to work with our print lead, Zack. Otherwise, you can contact us to place an order for us to print. We can work with you to print posters, zines, flyers, art prints, menus, folded cards, envelopes, brochures, stickers, and more stationery!
As we develop as a print shop, prices are subject to change, but for now they are as follows:
$5 per master/layer
$15 per half hour of studio use
$1 per 10 sheets of printing per color for ink
Paper sold at retail cost
